Oregon Providers: use the directory with your AI assistant

Oregon Providers now works with your AI assistant. If you already talk to Claude or ChatGPT, you can point it at the directory and ask for a therapist the way you would ask a friend who knows Oregon. It reads the same verified listings the search page shows, then sends you to the profile when you are ready to reach out.

What your assistant can do
- Search verified providers by city or ZIP, what they treat, how they work (EMDR, CBT, IFS and so on), insurance including OHP and its CCOs, telehealth, sliding scale, language, and whether they are taking new clients.
- Open a full profile: bio, specialties, approaches, insurance, fees, session formats, practice and links.
- Find group practices and clinics, and the verified clinicians listed there.
- Look up one provider by name.
- Read the guides and articles on therapy types and finding care in Oregon.
Things people ask it:
- "Find a therapist in Bend who takes OHP and is taking new clients."
- "I want EMDR for trauma, video sessions are fine, and I'm on PacificSource."
- "Is there a Spanish-speaking couples counselor near Salem?"
Set it up
The address is the same everywhere: https://orcounselors.com/api/v1/mcp
No sign-in, no key. Paste it into your assistant, name the connection, and save.
- claude.ai: Settings, Customize, Connectors, then Add custom connector. Works on the Free plan and paid plans, in the browser, desktop and phone apps.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http orcounselors https://orcounselors.com/api/v1/mcp - ChatGPT: Settings, Integrations, Plugins, then Add custom MCP server, with Authentication set to No authentication. An official plugin is submitted to OpenAI for review.
- Other MCP clients: any client that speaks MCP over HTTP can use the same address.
What it will not do
The connection is read-only. It cannot edit a listing, send an inquiry or book a session. It returns no phone numbers, email or street addresses. Your assistant gets a link to the profile, and the profile has the contact form. Search only returns providers verified on the directory. It does not give medical advice.
It is free, with no account. Your search reaches the server, your conversation does not, and no cookie is set.
Providers: your listing is still edited in the dashboard. Editing through your assistant is a later phase.
If you are in crisis, call or text 988 first.
